This is the second iteration of the Elevator Boss that we’ve seen in ICC. Unlike the previous elevator however, this one is akin to the one in SSC – it goes down. And it’s definitely far enough that popping your parachute cloak at the top is Not a Smart Move.
Or so I heard.
Our setup
We had two tanks, three healers, and some DPS. Three are druids, so at least they can shapeshift into cats and possibly survive the fall. Priests can levitate, mages can slow-fall, and the rest of us. Well, let’s just say it’s a good thing we have an above average number of engineers in our guild (I think five of us are engineers).
The Pull
Wait until the elevator is all the way to the top. It will pause for a moment, giving you the visual sign that it’s OK to run onto the platform. Set yourself up right in the middle, and prepare for the first movement. There’s no resetting this boss, once you start the pull you’re riding it all the way to the bottom.
Watch your DPS and healers, make sure they are moving into position with you. This is definitely not the time you want them to practice holding back for five seconds.
Non-tanks
Follow your tank onto the platform. Be careful however, as if they are an engineer they may decide that it’s time to play ‘the game’ – and base jump off edge of the shaft early. Situational Awareness is key here.
I really think you should get badges, or at least an achievement, if nobody dies here.
Love it!
ReplyDeleteI guess the rewards for beating the elevator boss are Not Wasting Time and Lower Repair Costs :)
